Hi Andy,
Thanks for contacting us. Our app transfers your photos exactly as they are on your iPhone. Once the photos are on your computer you can use any photo viewing application to view your photos and read the metadata from them. If you have a Mac then the file preview option will show you the metadata of your photo.
I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other question or comment.
Best regards,
Enrique

Dear Nick,
Thanks for posting your question here. Are you trying to transfer from computer to Android device? If so, then try to rename the file to have extension MP4 instead of MOV. However, it is not guaranteed that the video will play because Android may not be able to play all encodings. If you have problems viewing the video after the transfer then you may need to convert the video to a different format. Let us know when you have a chance to rename the video and try the transfer again.
Kind regards,
Enrique

Hi Jim,
This is Enrique, the developer of the app. As Amber mentioned, our app transfers photos in full resolution, however, the Photos app creates different versions fo the same photo and uses a medium resolution version to be displayed on the iPad. The photos should display quickly on the iPad even when the original photo was in very high resolution. How did you take those photos? in what format?
Something you may want to try is to restart your iPad just to make sure that everything is cleared from memory. Then, try to view the photos again and let me know if they slowness continues. If it does then you can try reducing the resolution of the photos to see if the issue improves. Hope this helps!
Regards,
Enrique

Also, make sure that you have the latest version of Photo Transfer App installed on both devices (v3.01).

Hello,
Thanks for posting your question here. So you transferred your photos from iPhone to Computer correct? If you transfer on the other direction, from Computer to iPhone, then the best is to re-select the photos you want to transfer because the indexes of the photos change after you add photos to the device.
If you are trying to transfer just from iPhone to Computer then after you transfer the first photo you could touch the 'Clear all' button and select a new one. Also, if you took some photos in between the transfers the best is to selet again the photos to make sure that the right indexes are selected.
I hope this makes some sense. Let us know if you have any questions or comments.
Kind regards,
Enrique

Hi Mike,
Seems like something happened during the update of iOS. You can google this problem and find some articles that explain how to resolve it, I think it was a common problem when upgrading from iOS3 to iOS4 or iOS5.
Let me know if I can assist you further with the app.
Kind regards,
Enrique

Hi Peter,
Thanks for the info. The variations on the devices are related to the processor type of the device. The iPad 2 has a dual core processor that is able to play higher resolution videos (videos in Full HD) while the iTouch has a less capable processor that limits the types of videos it can play. I would recommend you to try this tool to convert videos to the iPad/iTouch formats:
http://handbrake.fr/
It's free and I've used it successfully before to convert videos coming from other sources. I hope this helps! Also, if you could send us a sample original video (short video, maybe 3 or 4 seconds long_ to our support inbox that would help us figuring out a better way to process that type of video format. Our support email is support [at] phototransferapp [dot] com. Thanks!

Hi Don,
This is quite strange, maybe there is an album name on your device that is causing the issue. Do you have any albums named with special characters maybe? How many albums do you have on your device? If you could send us a screenshot of the albums page inside of the 'Photos' app of your device that would be great to see if there is anything that can give us a clue of what's going on. Our support email is: support [at] phototransferapp [dot] com.

Thanks for your question and comments. I just did some testing around this. It looks like the XMP file gets created only when rotating PNG files (most likely screenshots), the XMP file is not created when rotating photos. The XMP file is a "standard, created by Adobe Systems Inc., for processing and storing standardized and proprietary information relating to the contents of a file". After I rotated a PNG image on my device the resulting XMP was:
8
I'm guessing Apple added the XMP file as a way to keep the original orientation of the PNG file.
In any case, you should download the PNG version of the images which is the one that actually contain the image data of the images. By doing this experiment I also realized that if you select PNG with rotation and JPG images at the same time the app will not let you download the JPG files which is obviously a bug that we should take care, so this experiment was productive on that regard as well.
I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other question or comment.
Kind regards,
Enrique
