Hi Peter,

Can you please quickly check that you have given permissions to our app to read/write photos:

http://phototransferapp.com/help/ios6...

Look at the link above and make sure that the privacy setting for Photos is turned on for our app. Let me know the results.

Also, another good test would be to try on using the web interface of our app instead of the Mac app to see if that makes a difference.

Regards,

Enrique

Hi Peter,

One more note, if you are transferring from Mac to iPad then your photos will be saved to the 'photos' app on your iPad. Did you look there in the 'camera roll' album inside of the native 'photos' app? Let us know if you need more help.

Hi,

One more suggestion to Amber's response. Please try renaming your video removing the spaces in the file name (if there are any), we have detected an issue with video files that have spaces in the file name. We are releasing an update to fix this issue soon.

Hopefully that helps with your problem! Let us know if you have other questions or comments.

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry you are having issues with the app. Can you tell me what type of wifi network you are using? Is it a home wifi network or a public network? Please note that some public wifi networks like at coffee shops are configured to block communication between devices. If you are at home one thing to try is to reset your wifi router and join the network again to make sure the devices can see each other.

I hope this helps you. Let us know if you keep having problems. If you do please tell us what version of iOS you have on your iPad and what version of Mac OSX you have.

Enrique

Hi Sylvia,

Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry you are having problems. So, did you try to using the Mac app instead of the web browser? Here is a link:

http://phototransferapp.com/mac/

If you already tried using the mac app and it didn't discover your device then try to reset your wifi router just to make sure that all connections are refreshed. Using the Mac app will allow you to batch download your videos from iPhone to Mac.

I hope this helps you! Let us know if you need more help.

Hi Brad,

Just wanted to add one more suggestion to check if the wifi network is the problem. You can try creating an adhoc network between your Mac and your devices. Here is a link on how to do that:

http://www.phototransferapp.com/help/...

This would create a direct network between your mac and your device. After creating the adhoc network join it from your device and then launch the app on the mac and on your device and try to discover devices.

Let us know when you have a chance to try this.

Hi Melly,

Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry you are having issues with the app. This sounds like the connection is breaking mid-way on the backup process. Do you have very large videos stored on your iPad maybe? One recommendation is to place your iPad and computer close to your wifi router to make sure that you have the best wifi connection possible and avoid network disconnections.

Regarding the number of photos backed up. Is it possible that you backed up some files first and then deleted them from the device? That could be the reason for the difference in the numbers.

We are working to make the backup process more smooth and give more information on the possible error if something goes bad. We will push an update in the coming weeks that should address this specially for very large transfers.

Oh and more more recommendation, maybe you can try creating an ad-hoc network between your mac and your iPad. This would create a direct network between the 2 and would ensure the best connection. Here is how to do that:

http://www.phototransferapp.com/help/...

Let us know if creating the adhoc network helps.

Hi Colten,

Thanks for contacting us. We are investigating this issue. Seems like the app may not be flushing the temporary files created before uploading to Flickr. For now what you can do is to uninstall the app and re-install it again. Don't worry, you will not be charged again to install it again. Also, if you re-install the app, go to the 'Settings' screen inside of the app and then touch on 'Restore purchases' to get all the plugins restored.

Sorry about this. We will look into this further and publish an update to solve this problem. Let us know if you have other questions or comments.

Hello,

Just wanted to add that force quitting the app or re-installing should not be necessary for this. Most likely the issue is related to the configuration of the Wifi network. If you are still having issues, can you please tell us what type of wifi router do you have? Also, restarting the wifi router can sometimes help as it clears all connections to the devices and allows to find them in the network again.

I hope this helps.
