Dear Tobias,

Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry you are having problems with the app.

I would recommend to double check that your iPhone and your iPad are connected to the same wifi network as sometimes they may join another nearby network automatically. Also, are you using a home wifi network or a public network? Some wifi networks are configured to block the communication layer that our app uses to transfer photos.

You could also try to reset your wifi router to make sure that all connections get refreshed. After you reset the wifi router you need to join the network again from your iPhone an your iPad and try the transfer process again.

I hope this helps. Please let me know how it goes.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Dear Emma,

I'm sorry you are having problems with the app. Can you please send us the full address that the apps is giving you as well as the brand of your wifi router? This way we can check if there is any special configuration that needs to be done to make the app work, our support inbox is: support [at] phototransferapp [dot] com. Also, regarding the port number error that is most likely due to another app using the same port number. Please go to 'Settings' app and scroll until you find our app. Then change the 'HTTP port number' setting to 9090 and launch our app again.

We'll be glad to help you.

Best,

Enrique

Dear John,

Thanks for contacting us. What format are the photos that you are tying to transfer? Did you take them with a digital camera or did you edit them with a photo editing program before you transfer them? Please give us some details about the photo files that you are trying to transfer so we can understand where the problem may be. We will be glad to help you.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Dear Justin,

Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry you are having issues with the app. Our app transfers your photos in the order they are selected on the sender device. As you select your photos they are placed on a transfer queue and they are transferred on the order you selected them on the thumbnails screen. Also, make sure that you have the latest version of our app (v3.3) on both of your iPhones.

I hope this helps you. Let us know if you continue having issues, I will be glad to help.

Best,

Enrique

:) I actually didn't realize how the 'getsatisfaction' forum converted what I copied from the XMP file! The content I pasted contained some XML tags and they were stripped out when I submitted my answer. The XMP is an XML file that looks something like the example shown here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extensib...

I wanted to show how it actually looked but it seems that I can't copy paste XML on these answers!
Dear Bill,

Thanks for contacting us. Version 3.3 was mostly a UI update for the new iPad display, we included new assets that are high-res to take full advantage of the new iPad resolution. We also fixed a bug that prevented photo thumbnails to show correctly on the new iPad making the photo selection harder.

One new feature included on this version is the ability to transfer photos directly to apps installed on your device. The compatible apps are listed here: http://www.photoapplink.com/ Some of the most popular apps that you can transfer to are: ColorSplash, Photogene, PhotoToaster, etc. This is a very useful feature for those users who want to edit photos using one of these apps but they have their photos stored on another device.

There were also other minor UI improvements on the transfer web page and the asset saving process.

We hope you will like this update. Let us know if you have any comments.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Thanks GVdid1!

Bill, The answer provided by GVdid1 is correct, you can right click the 'Download all photos as zip file.." button to choose where to save the zip file using the 'Save target as option". We should make that more clear though. Thanks for pointing this out.

Let us know if you have any other question or comment.

Kind regards,

Dear Bobby,

Thanks for contacting us. Our app transfers your photos and videos over your local wifi network ONLY, no data is sent outside your wifi network so you don't have to worry about using your cellular package or your photos being sent over the internet. In fact, you can turn on airplane mode and then turn wifi only and it would still work.

I hope this answers your question. Please let us know if you have any other question or comment.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Dear Janita,

Please see the image attached where we show the 'Location Services' menu selected inside of the 'Settings' app of the iPad 3.

If you still can't see the Location Services then maybe you have some restrictions enabled. Please touch the 'General' settings and then check if the "Location" item is restricted.

I hope this helps you.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Hi gvdid1!

Thanks for your question. Interesting issue, how did you originally save the MP4 video on your iPad? Did you sync it with iTunes or saved it from an email? Maybe the video was actually converted to MOV format when it was originally saved to the photos app. The only time we do a conversion of format is when sending videos from an HD capable device like the iPhone 4 or 4S to an older device like an iPhone 3G or 3GS, other than that we send the video exactly as it is stored on the 'Photos' app. That's why I think the 'Photos' app is actually making the conversion when saving the video from the original source.

Let me know what's the origin of the video and we can try to figure this out.

Cheers,

Enrique
