Dear Annie,

Thanks for posting your question here. I'm really sorry you are having problems with the app.

Are you by any chance using an Apple Extreme router? If that's the case, please make sure that you are connected to the main wifi network and not the 'Guest' network - the guest network blocks the communication between iPhone and computer.

If not, then can you tell us what brand/model of wifi router are you using? We have other users reported problems with the Cysco E2000 router.

In the meantime, I would suggest to try resetting your wifi router to make sure all connections are refreshed.

Also, what web browser are you using? I would suggest to try connecting with a different browser like Safari, Google Chrome or Firefox, specially if you are using Internet Explorer.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you continue having problems, if you do please send us the address that you are getting so we can check if it looks ok. We'll be happy to help.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Hi Shawn,
Thanks for posting your question here. I'm sorry you are having problems with the app. Are you still running iPhone OS 3.1 on your device? This problem is most likely happening because of the number of photos that you copied from the 'Photos' app. Please try to copy less photos (less than 30 on 1st. generation iPhone or iPhone 3G) and try running the app again.

If you are using an iPhone running iOS4 let us know so we can think of other possible solutions.

I look forward hearing back from you.

Best regards,

Enrique

Hi Coy,
Thanks for posting your question here. Interesting problem, we haven't run into this one before. This is most likely happening because another app may be using the same port number as our app and it's running in the background (multitasking).

I would recommend a simple change to fix this. Open the 'Settings' app on your device and scroll down until you find 'Transfer' (our app) then, change the port number setting to '8090' for example and then try again to open our app. I think this should solve the issue.

If the previous solution does not solve the problem then I would recommend to turn off your iPhone and turn it back on but I think changing the port should do it.

Please let us know how it goes after you change the port number.

We look forward to your results.

Kind regards,

Hello,
Thanks for posting your question here. There is a limit of 32 pictures because of the limited amount of memory on the device when creating the zip file to be downloaded to your computer. You can safely transfer up to 32 photos on iPhone 3G and up to 50 photos on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4.

Now, you can manually change this limit by going to the 'Settings' app on your iPhone and then to the settings of our app ('Transfer'). There is a setting for 'Select photos limit' but I would not recommend to have it much higher than 50 to avoid crashes - the new iPhone 4 should be able to handle 60 or 70 photos.

We are working on improving our software to remove or increase this limit in a future update of the app.

Thanks for your patience. I will post something here when we update the app with the limit changed.

Kind regards,

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us. Have you updated your iPad to the new iOS4? If yes, you can simply select the photos that you want to transfer using the 'Send' screen on the 'PC' tab inside of our app. If you haven't updated your iPad yet, then you need to select the photos that you want to transfer from the 'Photos' app following these instructions:

http://www.phototransferapp.com/ipad_...

And after selecting the photos you need to follow these instructions:

http://www.phototransferapp.com/ipad_...

The address that you need to use will appear inside of the application when you launch the app on your iPad and you go to the 'PC' tab in the 'Send' section.

I hope this answers your question. Please let us know if you have any other question or comment. We will be very happy to assist you.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Hi Larry,

Thanks for your message. I just did the experiment that you suggested and obtained the same results as you!

So far, we had been testing with RAW+JPG images which resulted on the JPG file being transferred. However, I just tried with RAW only files as you suggested and the images transferred where the original untouched RAW files with JPG extension as you experimented before.

Thanks for helping us discover this :) For now, you can transfer the images and then rename them to RW2 extension. In the upcoming release you will be able to select what format you want to transfer the photos. I will post something here as soon as we release the update.

Let us know if you have any other question or comment.

Best regards,

Hi Chris,

Thanks for posting your results. That is very interesting. We use Safari as our primary browser and never had this issue. I know we have a bunch of users using safari as well so I'm very curious to know why your Safari would not like our download. Did you try simply quitting Safari and starting it again?

Let me know if you find something out. I will let you know if we discover something on our side or if we have other users with the same problem.

Regards,

Enrique
Hi Chris,
Thanks for your comment and the additional information. What browser are you using? Have you tried using a different browser like Google Chrome or Safari to see if that changes the speed of download?

Let me know.

Regards,

Enrique
Hi David,

Ok. The address on a home wifi network normally looks like http://192.168.X.X:8080, the address you posted is quite different so that's why I suspected it was connected to a larger wifi network

Can you please double check that the iPhone is connected to your wifi network? Sometimes the iPhone may join another wifi network automatically. You can also try to turn off wifi on the iPhone and then turn it back on to join the network again. Make sure that your computer is connected to the same wifi network as well.

Also, the app has to be running on your device when you try to access the address provided - make sure that you are using the address that is currently displayed on the application as it may change from time to time.

Finally, if problems continue, you can try resetting your wireless router to make sure that all connections are refreshed.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you continue having issues. I will be happy to continue helping.

Kind regards,

Enrique
