Hello,
Thanks for posting your question. We currently don't support transferring photos from an EyeFi card as it is a proprietary technology and we don't have the information of the protocol they use to send/receive photos.

EyeFi uses their own technology to transfer photos so most likely they would not allow a third party app like ours to transfer photos using their hardware.

I hope this answers your question. Let us know if you have other questions or comments. We'll inform you here if there is any change regarding this in the future.

Kind regards,

Hello,
Thanks for posting your question. The current version of the app allows to transfer videos from iPhone to computer only. By default you can't transfer videos from iPhone to iPad - this is because we were having some connectivity/memory issues with large videos so we decided not to included by default on the app.

However, this is the good news, we left that option as an advanced setting of the application. To enable video transfers from iPhone to iPad go to the Settings app on your iPad find the settings of our app ('Transfer') and then turn ON the device transfer setting. After that you should be able to transfer videos from iPhone to iPad. There is a catch though, please only transfer videos that are shorter than 1 minute. The app seems to run out of memory and crash with videos larger than 1 minute, that's why we didn't release it as a default option. We are working hard to get the problem resolved and have a new software update soon with this activated by default. But at least for now you can start transferring some short videos (1 min. or less to avoid crashes). Make sure that your iPhone and iPad have good wifi signal to avoid any network connection interruption while transferring videos.

We would appreciate if you can report any issues you find with this feature if you decide to use it. You can email us at: support [at] phototransferapp [dot] com.

Hello,
Thanks for posting your question. When transferring photos from iPhone to computer all the metadata is preserved, the photo is transferred exactly as it is on your iPhone so all EXIF headers will be preserved.

However, when transferring from iPhone to iPhone/iPad or computer to iPhone/iPad the header information is unfortunately lost. The reason for this is that we use a programming interface provided by Apple to save photos to the native 'Photos' app. Unfortunately this interface only reads the bytes of the image but it discards the header information!

As you can imagine, this has been a big source of frustration for us and for other developers working with photos on iPhone and iPad :( The good news is that Apple recently announced a new version of the SDK which looks like has a fix for this so there is hope for us to solve this problem in the next few weeks when an updated version of the iPhone OS comes out.

I hope this is an understandable answer. Let us know if you have any other question or comment.

Best regards,

Please refer to these instructions to transfer photos from computer to iPod Touch or iPhone:

You can also find these instructions inside of the app under the 'Device' tab touching the help button and scrolling down a bit.

Hi there,
Thanks for posting your question. This is definitely related to the way Internet Explorer handles the video mime type as you noted it.

When you use the 'Save Target as...' option you should be able to choose a place on your hard drive to save it and then you should be able to download it normally. Please rename it to .MOV if the file was saved with .HTML extension. For some reason IE thinks that it's an HTML file and it saves it with HTML extension but renaming the file should do the trick.

I hope this answers your question. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for using Photo Transfer App!
Hello Will,
Thanks for posting your question here. I'm sorry you are having problems with the app. We have another customer reporting the same issue and we are investigating the problem. We haven't been able to reproduce the issue on our side so we need to spend more time looking for the possible cause of the problem.

Have you been able to upload any photos before? Or, you've never seen the upload button on the transfer page? Do you have the app installed on an iPhone as well or only on the iPad?

Also, do you have another computer on the same network where you can test the app? Do you have an anti-virus or some type of internet security program installed on your computer?

Any extra information that you can provide us will help us figuring this out. Thanks for your patience and help with this!

We look forward to hearing more details from you.

Best regards,

Enrique

Dear Mike,

Thanks for posting your question here. You should be able to transfer photos using the configuration that you mentioned. As long as your computer and your iPad are connected to the same router (via cable or wireless) the app should work normally.

Are you getting a 'page not found' error when trying to access the address provided? If yes, can you tell us what brand and model of router you are using, maybe there is a setting that needs to be changed to make it work although most routers should allow this by default.

Also, it would be useful to know the address that you are getting on your iPhone just to check that it looks ok. You can also try using the address that says 'for windows computers' to see if that one works.

I hope this helps. Let us know how it goes. We'll be glad to help.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Hello Samuel,
Thanks for posting your question here. This problem is similar to the one described here:

http://getsatisfaction.com/photo_tran...

Are you using a home network or a public network?

Here are again some hints to get it working:

* Make sure that your iPhone/iPad and your computer are connected to the same wifi network

* Make sure that Photo Transfer App is running and the screen is active when you try to access the address provided on your iPhone/iPad

* Type the address on your computer's web browser exactly as it appears in the application including the 'http://' part. Note that the address may change every time you open the app (do not bookmark the address).

* Make sure your iPhone/iPad and your computer have good wifi signal

* Some streaming services like an ongoing Skype call or an Internet Radio Stream may affect the connection. Please try to turn them off and try to access the website again.

If you continue having problems please send us by email the address that you are getting and some details of your network. We will be happy to help.

Hi Edward,
I just posted another answer below. Please let us know if you continue having problems finding your images.

Hi Edward,

Thanks for posting your comment. Yes, you are correct, I think my answer was not the best one here.

Let me clarify. On iPad, when you transfer photos from PC to iPad the photos are saved to the 'Saved Photos' album. If you don't have a 'Saved photos' album it should be created automatically when you transfer your first photos. In some cases however, we have had customers who had to create the 'Saved photos' album first for the transferred photos to appear (you can create the 'Saved Photos' album just by saving an image from an email attachment or from a web page by holding your finger over any image on the page.

Now, on iPhone the photos transferred from PC to iPhone they should end on the Camera Roll (that's how Apple designed it). After you transfer the photos from the computer to the iPhone you need to open the 'Photos' app to view the photos that you transferred. If they are not there then please tell us if they were on JPG format and were did they come from. If they are very big images I would recommend to resize them before transferring to the iPhone.

I hope this makes sense now. Please let me us if you have any other question or comment. We'll be happy to help.

Kind regards,

Enrique
