Dear Brandt,

Thanks for posting your question here. Yes, Photo Transfer App works with devices using 3.1.3 however the selection method is a bit different to the one used on devices running iOS4. Here is a video how the app works with iOS 3.1.3:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wVn_u...

You can transfer up to 50 photos at one time so transferring your 1800 will take you some time but it should work.

I hope the app will be useful to you. Please let us know if you have any other question or comment.

Best regards,

Enrique

Hello,

I'm sorry are having problems with the app. Please send us an email to: support [at] phototransferapp [dot] com with the address that the app is giving you and the type of wifi router you are using so we can research if there is anything that may need to be done to the configuration. We are treating these connection problems individually since sometimes they are related to the configuration of the router used.

We'll try to respond to your email fast and we'll be happy to help you.

Hi Larry,

Sorry for not responding earlier. Apple released iOS4 for iPad last November. Before that we didn't have access to the RAW representation of the photo. Now, in the new version of the app you can transfer the RAW files from your iPad to your computer, however, we have a small bug that is causing the images to be named with JPG extension even though they are already in RAW format after the transfer (this only applies to RAW images, not RAW+JPG).

Basically, you can now transfer RAW files from iPad to computer but not RAW+JPG files yet.

We are back in the office now and we will try to fix the bug with the RAW only files and add support for RAW+JPG as fast as possible. Let us know if you have any comments: support [at] phototransferapp [dot] com

Happy new year! Kind regards,

Enrique

Hello,

Thanks for posting your question here and sorry I couldn't respond earlier.

This problem is most likely due to an incompatible video format. Our app tries to save the video file but it fails so it just hangs there. How was the video created? Normally all videos created by an iDevice (iPhone, iTouch) work just fine but we have noticed that some videos created by other cameras or other software have issues some times. Let me know how did you create the video so I can think if there is a way to convert it.

I'm sorry about this issue. Let us know some details about your video and I hope we can come up with a solution.

Happy new year! Kind regards,

Enrique

Dear Lori,

Thanks for posting your question here. I'm sorry you are having problems with the app.

So, if I understand correctly, you were able to upload a first batch of photos to your iPad and they were saved correctly right? but when you tried again the upload never starts correct? I would recommend you to double check that the app is still running on your iPad when you attempt to transfer the new batch of photos. You could quit the app, start it again and then go to the address provided on the device from your computer web browser.

Also, make sure that all photos that you are trying to upload are in JPG format and we recommend reducing the resolution before uploading to iPad if your photos are in very high resolution.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you continue having issues and provide us with some details of the photos that you are trying to upload. We will be happy to help.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Hi Margaret,

I'm sorry about this, as I mentioned on previous comments we rely on the programming interfaces provided by Apple and so far they haven't allowed developers to create albums or organize photos in any way.

We decided to keep our app focused on transferring photos directly from and to the native 'Photos' app despite this limitations, but as mentioned before there are other third party apps that allow you to organize photos inside of their app (not the native 'Photos' app).

I'll post something here if anything changes. Hopefully with the release of the new iPad hardware in couple of months there will be a change with this.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Dear Judy,

I'm sorry you are having problems with the app. I just responded to the email you sent us. The address that you are getting looks perfectly fine and the Linksys router should work just fine. I would recommend to reset your wifi router and join the network again from your computer and your iPad to make sure that all connections are refreshed.

I hope our email and this helps. Please let us know how things go via email after you reset and join the network again.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Dear Stephanie,

I'm really sorry for not responding earlier, somehow I missed this question when you posted it. Are you transferring your photos from iPhone to your windows computer? If yes, after the transfer is done you will have a zip file that contains all the photos that you transferred. You need to use the Windows File explorer to go to the place where you saved your photos. Then, right-click the zip file and choose the option to 'Extract'. This will allow you to extract the photos from the zip file into a new folder that you can rename or move to anywhere on your computer.

I hope this answers your question. Please let me know if you have any other question or comment. I will be happy to help and I will respond much faster this time.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Hi Kelly,

Thanks for posting your question here. To transfer from your device to your computer (or vice versa) they both need to be connected to the same wifi network, so basically they need to be in close proximity to the same wifi router.

We currently do not support transferring photos to a remote location but we may add that in the future.

I hope this answers your question and I hope our app can still be useful to you. Please let us know if you have any other question or comment. We will be glad to help.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Dear Alan,

Thanks for contacting us. I just replied to the email you sent us. Your device and your computer must be connected to the same wifi network to be able to transfer your photos. You can use any wifi network (home or away) but your device and your computer need to be on the same location.

Please note that some public wifi networks are configured to block communication between devices inside of the network. If this is the case then you can create an 'ad-hoc' network to establish a direct connection between your computer and your device. Let me know over email and I can send you instructions on how to create the ad-hoc network depending on the computer that you are using.

Let us know if you have any other question or comment.

Have a nice Sunday evening,

Enrique
