Dear Marchar,

Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry you are having problems with the app.

You don't need to install anything on your computer. The only thing you need is the app installed on your iPhone and a web browser on your computer. You can use a web browser like Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari or Firefox.

You can watch a video of how the app works here:

http://www.phototransferapp.com/PCTra...

Also, I would recommend you to double check that your iPhone and computer are connected to the same wifi network as sometimes the iPhone may join automatically another nearby network. Please note that sometimes it takes couple of attempts to establish communication.

Please make sure that you keep the app running on your device and that you type the address exactly as it appears on the app including the 'http://' and the ':8080' parts.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any problem. We will be very happy to help.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Dear Paul,

I'm sorry you are having problems with the app. The address that you posted looks like it has a small error. The address should end on ':8080' instead of '.8080' (notice the semicolon instead of the period before the 8080).

Please try again changing the period for a semicolon before the 8080. Also, please make sure that you are using the address that is currently displayed inside of the application as it may change from time to time (do not bookmark it) and keep the app running on your device when you attempt to access the address as the transfer web page is generated by your device.

I hope this helps. If you continue having problems please tell us what model of netgear router you have so we can check if there is any configuration change that needs to be done. I will be glad to help.

Regards,

Enrique

Hello,

Thanks for posting your question here. Are you using the Camera connection kit to get photos from your camera to your iPad? or how are you planning to send the photos from your camera to your iPad? If you already have a way to do that then our app can definitely help you getting your photos off the iPad once you get back home. Our app allows you to transfer the photos stored on your iPad to your computer. The photos are kept exactly as they are stored on your iPad, including the photos in RAW format, we don't modify the resolution or quality of the photos.

I hope this answers your question. Please let me know if you have any other question or comment. I will be glad to help.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Dear Dave,

Thanks for posting your problem here. I'm sorry you are having issues with the app. We did some research on our code about this and we realized that there is a conversion issue with the Megabytes and the actual number of bytes in the file. 1 Mb is equal to 1,048,576 bytes (2^20) so, your file of 392 Mb is actually: 411,041,762 bytes. Currently our limit is set to accept 400,000,000 bytes which is why you get the message that the file is to big to be uploaded.

I apologize about this problem. We need to update our code to be able to accept bigger files and avoid this confusion. What we can do for now is to send you a temporary binary file with this problem fixed before we put an update on the app store. Please send us an email to support [at] phototransferapp [dot] com so we can send you some instructions on how to do this. Again, sorry about this. We will try to fix this as soon as possible.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Thanks for posting your problem here. The zip download should tak the full resolution RAW file and not the JPG version. We tried with a few formats but not with the DNG format. Would it be possible for you to send us some samples of your DNG files for us to test? It would be great to have the same DNG file downloaded as a zip file and as a separate file using the 'Full resolution' link on the transfer web page. If you can please send us your sample files to our support email: support [at] phototransferapp [dot] com

Sorry about this issue. I hope you can help us figuring this out. Thanks!!

Hi Cindy,

Thanks for posting your question here. You don't need to install anything on your computer. You only need the app installed on your device. If you don't have the app installed on your iPhone/iPad then, simply go to the 'App Store' app on your device and download the app from there. Don't worry you will not be charged to download the app again. Once you pay for an app once you can download it and install it as many times as you want as long as you use the same iTunes account.

I hope this answers your question. Please let me know if you have any other question or comment. You can watch some videos that show how the app works on our website:

Hello BJ,

Thanks for posting your question here. I'm sorry you are having problems using the app. Our app should be able to handle any JPG resolution. What error message are you getting when trying to transfer other images?

In the meantime, I would recommend you to try to open the 'Photos' app before you start a transfer to make sure that the photo catalog is up to date. Opening the photos app forces the database to get updated, then, try to transfer your photos again. Sometimes the photo database needs to be updated before a transfer takes place.

If the problem persists even after opening the 'Photos' app before the transfer then you can try this:

1. Open the 'Settings' app on your device and scroll down until you find our app ('Transfer')

2. Change the switch for 'Use old saving APIs' to ON and close the settings app.

Doing this will tell our application to use the old programming interfaces provided by Apple to save your photos. We noticed that the new interface provided by Apple was having problems saving some photos and that's why we implemented this workaround. We submitted a bug report to Apple and we are still waiting for them to say something about it

I hope this helps. Please let me know how it goes after trying these 2 things. I look forward to hearing your results.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Dear Gary,

Thanks for posting your question here. To transfer photos and videos from iPod to iPad you need to have the app installed on both devices (you only pay once to install it in both when using the same iTunes account on both devices). Then, after the app is installed on your iPhone and your iPad you need to start the app on both devices and go to the 'Device' tab to select and transfer your photos from one device to another.

The devices should detect each other. The only requirement is for both to be connected to the same wifi network. This means that your iTouch and your iPad should be connected to the same wireless router (network) that you access the internet from.

Here is a video that shows how the app works to transfer photos from iPhone/iTouch to iPad:

I hope this answers your question. Please let us know if you have any other question or comment. We will be happy to help.

Hello,

Thanks for posting your question here. What type of wifi router do you have? We noticed a similar issue when testing the app using a Lynksys wrt54g router and trying to transfer many files at one time or transfer a very large video file.

Your photos and videos are transferred inside of your wifi network and it seems that with some routers the transfer consumes the whole bandwidth of the network. We are still investigating this issue but we are thinking to add a 'throttle' setting that could be activated when this problem occurs.

I apologize about this. Could you please send us some details of your wifi router? It would help us a lot figuring this out. Thanks for your help and feedback.

Kind regards,

Enrique
