Version 3.3 Release Notes

AtlantaBill 13 years ago updated 13 years ago 3
Are release notes for version 3.3 (iOS) available somewhere? I'd like to know what changed and what was added.

TIA.

AtlantaBill
Dear Bill,

Thanks for contacting us. Version 3.3 was mostly a UI update for the new iPad display, we included new assets that are high-res to take full advantage of the new iPad resolution. We also fixed a bug that prevented photo thumbnails to show correctly on the new iPad making the photo selection harder.

One new feature included on this version is the ability to transfer photos directly to apps installed on your device. The compatible apps are listed here: http://www.photoapplink.com/ Some of the most popular apps that you can transfer to are: ColorSplash, Photogene, PhotoToaster, etc. This is a very useful feature for those users who want to edit photos using one of these apps but they have their photos stored on another device.

There were also other minor UI improvements on the transfer web page and the asset saving process.

We hope you will like this update. Let us know if you have any comments.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Thanks, Enrique. I'm new to iPads (just purchased one of the new ones last month) and am glad to see that "you guys" are implementing improvements to Photo Transfer -- which BTW is one of my three, most-useful apps. FYI, I'll give you one example of how I use it...

I just returned from Europe, and while there, I snapped several hundred photos with my Sony camera. Every night, I copied the "photos of the day" from my camera to my iPad using a USB cable with a Sony connector. Then, I culled these photos on my iPad. At this juncture, I had "backup copies" of the photos that I wanted to keep and also a way to show them to others. I repeated this process every night. Then, when I returned home, I used Photo Transfer to move all of the full-resolution, culled photos from my iPad to my PC for editing with Photoshop. And, after editing, I saved 5.82" x 7.76", 264 dpi versions (to match my iPad's, retina display) and used Photo Transfer to place copies in a new album on my iPad.

Kind of a neat process, huh?

Nice process! The new iPad has such a beautiful display that is great for photo processing, have you tried some of the apps for photo editing on the iPad? I think there is a version of Photoshop for iPad and other cool apps that let you do effects and some basic editing.

I'm glad Photo Transfer App has been useful to you. Let me know if you find something that would make your workflow better, faster, easier, we really appreciate feedback from users.

Thanks!

Cheers,

Enrique
