Hi Rebecca,
Sorry that you are having problems with the app. What happens when you click on the device name when is detected? Does the app give you an specific error message? Also, what type of wifi network are you using?
One other thing to try just to verify that the connection is being established is to use the web interface to see if the app connects.
Let me know if you continue having issues.
Regards,
Enrique

Hi,
Thanks for your discussion and sorry for the confusion regarding this. I went ahead and included a note of this limitation on the description of the app.
There is indeed a difference between transferring from device to device compared to computer to device. When transferring from computer to device the videos are NOT resized on the computer before the transferred, they are transferred as they are on the computer. This has the downside that some videos will not be accepted by the iPad and an error will be prompted.
When transferring from device to device we have a bit more control so the resolution of the receiver is checked before the transfer takes place. If the receiver device reports a lower playback resolution than the resolution of the video then the video is resized to the best playback resolution of the receiver. I just checked on our code and there is indeed a problem specifically for iPad 2 where is reporting the playback capacity incorrectly to 640x360. We are now implementing a fix for this problem and we will include it on the next update of the app. I'm really sorry about this. In the meantime you can transfer the video to a computer first and then to the iPad to avoid the resolution change. I'll post something here once the update is available -- we currently have an update being reviewed by Apple that does not include this fix, we will post another update after the current update is approved by Apple.
Regarding displaying the metadata of the assets in the app that's a good suggestion. We will include this on our todo list to include it on a future update of the app.
I appreciate your feedback and I apologize sincerely for this issue. Let me know if you have other questions or comments.
Best regards,
Enrique

Hello,
The way our app works is that before transferring video from one device to another it checks what is the recording/playback capabilities of the receiving device. In the case of the iPad 2 it reports it being 720p and that's why it will send it over on that resolution. It seems that the iPad can store the 1080p version but it will only use it when sending it over AirPlay, but the video is played on the iPad itself it is played at 720p.
I hope this makes sense.
Best,
Enrique

Hi Greg,
Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry you are having problems with the app. It seems that we have an issue with the introduction screen when your iPad is still running iOS4.3. The solution to this is to update your iPad to iOS5 or iOS6 which are the most recent versions of the operating system published by Apple. To do that please connect your iPad to the computer you normally sync and update to iOS5 or iOS6.
I hope this helps you! Let me know if you need further assistance.
Best,
Enrique

Hi Kristin,
Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry you are having problems with the app and sorry it took us very long to respond.
Have you tried making the transfer again? I would suggest you to open the 'Photos' app before starting the transfer to make sure that the photo database is up to date. This error comes sometimes when the database falls behind and the write is not possible. So please try starting the 'Photos' app on your iPad and then attempt the transfer again.
I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

Enrique

Hi Henrik,
Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry you are having problems with the app. This is most likely due to a missing permission on our app. Please follow these steps:
1. Open the 'Settings' app
2. Touch on the 'Location services' menu
3. Make sure that our app has Location Services 'ON' so we can read your albums that contain photos that may be geo-located.
This is a requirement from Apple to apps that read photos on your device. Rest assured that your location information is kept safe.
Let us know if you have any other question or comment.
Best,
Enrique

Hi Buddy,
I'm sorry you keep having issues with the app. You may want to use the web interface of our app to see if the photos appear there. Normally all photos should show up from all albums including the camera roll. When you use the web interface you can select the photos on your device using the app on your iPad and then go to the address provided by the app to download them to your Windows computer.
Hope this helps!

Enrique

Hi Jonathan,
Sorry for the delay responding to your question. The videos should have been stored on the 'Photos' app along with the photos. Do you know what format the were the videos? Some video formats are not accepted by the iPad. Also make sure that you are running the latest version of the app on both iPad and Galaxy devices.
Best,
Enrique

I'm sorry you keep having issues. That's quite strange. Let's check one thing, please click on the 'Apple' icon on the top left corner of your mac and then click on 'About this Mac' can you tell me what version of OSX you are running?
Also, please send us an email to support [at] phototransferapp [dot] com so I can send you a link to a modified version of the mac app that you can try to see if that works and to get more info on what the problem may be. I also want to offer you something to compensate for this problem.
My apologies for the bad experience you had with the app. Best,
Enrique
