Mac app not discovering iOS devices

I cannot get the Mac app to discover any iOs devices. I have tried two iphones and one ipad on bot WiFi and ad hoc networks. I have tried the mac app on both a macbook pro and an iMac running osX10.7. And in every case the mac based app is not discovering any of the iOS devices. I am able to transfer between i-devices on all network types (wifi-adhoc-bluetooth) but cannot get the mac app to connect. What am I missing?

Hello Brad,

Thanks for posting your question here with us, I will be happy to assist you with our app.

Can you please let me know if you are on a home wifi network or a pubic wifi network? Make sure that your have your device connected to the same wifi network as your computer ( just in case as sometimes they tend to join nearby networks). Make sure that you keep the app running while you attempt to transfer and that you are on the latest version of the app which is version 4.5 for iDevices.

Another solution you can attempt: Please reset your wifi network and then join the network again from the devices. You can also try using the manual entry option on the Windows App to see if that helps alleviate the issue you are experiencing with not being able to find the devices. I would like to suggest touch "Discover Devices" button a couple of times as sometimes it may take a couple of attempts for the app to discover the devices. Also you can close out the app and start it again, that will force the app to 'broadcast' itself on the network again and then touch "discover devices" button on the other device to try to re-discover it.

Hi Brad,

Just wanted to add one more suggestion to check if the wifi network is the problem. You can try creating an adhoc network between your Mac and your devices. Here is a link on how to do that:

This would create a direct network between your mac and your device. After creating the adhoc network join it from your device and then launch the app on the mac and on your device and try to discover devices.
