Wow, ... You certainly know your App.

I tried it again, ... after not showing, I then turned on location services in the iPad settings, refreshed the PC web browser, and up popped the albums in the drop-down menu.

I thought it's just needed when "sending" from the transfer App, so I had that location services option OFF, as my default setting on the iPad.

Thanks Enrique.
Hi Amber,

The Album created using the web-browser interface, then deleted using the iPad doesn't show any longer, after originally deleted on the iPad, by using the iPad to delete it. That part is OK :)

All other albums on the iPad do still show on the iPad directly, through the iPad.

But, when I use the web-browser to transfer to the iPad from the PC, no other albums show now in that web-based interface, using Internet Explorer v8

I've tried refreshing the browser on the PC, rebooting the PC and iPad, closing the photo App, and starting again, as well as the iPad photo section, but it doesn't show the album list from the browser of the PC, in that section they'd normally be in, to select what album to transfer the photos to. It just remains blank.

And the only thing I remember being done was to delete the album on the iPad that was created with the web-browser connection, by having the iPad delete it.

Before I created the extra album, the others showed in the browser on the PC.

One extra bit of info that may help figure this out ...
I have an album called "Videos" on my iPad Camera Roll section, and the album created thru the browser was called "VIDEOS" (with all upper-case letters)

Could this have confused the album list in the web-browser interface when the VIDEOS album was deleted by the iPad?
Hi Paul,

If you still have this problem, or for future issues regarding a crash of the App...

Look to see if the App generated any type of 'crash' log?

iOS 5.1 now has a built-in Crash-Log viewer where you can also select all that text, copy it, and paste it into the notes App, or into an eMail to Enrique at support@phototransferapp.com

To see this 'Log' area, press the...
Settings / General / About / Diagnostics & Usage / Diagnostics & Usage Data
... buttons.

There you'll see a detailed listing of all the recent crashes happening with the iDevice, using the Apps, or even the memory crashes.

Look for a title stating the App, or function name you're looking for ... For example ...
'LatestCrash-PhotoTransferApp.plist' ... Or ... 'LatestCrash-LowMemory.plist' ... etc.

They also list the older crash logs there with the date/time the crash happened, shown in the log name.

You may no longer have to sync the iDevice to get the CrashLogs from the computer now. :-)
On my iPad2 the tab is called "Location Services", within the "Settings" main area.

Could it be the same on your iPhone?

Location Services need to be ON, so the GeoTaged info can be read by the iOS.
Then you'll be able to select your photos to transfer.
I remember Enrique telling another customer, photos are sorted in the order they are chosen when you click on them.
Hi Andy,
Have you looked at the section of the PDF showing the Firewall / Privacy settings area within the router? That's where I'm thinking the adjustments may be to solve this for you.

You can always do a router reset, by pressing any 'reset button' or issue of reset command, that could put the router back into factory settings specifications, as a last resort, if all else fails. Maybe that would remove some limits between device to device connections.

But I still think its a Firewall / Privacy issue, because the PDF mentioned being able to 'edit' the settings in that area.

As for the 192.168.xxx.xxx instead of the 10.10.xxx.xxx
I meant if the router set it by itself, back to 192.168.xxx.xxx,
- ... the 10.10.xxx.xxx - was an indication it was adjusted for corporate privacy between devices within the office environment.

Manually 'forcing it' into 192.168.xxx.xxx wouldn't do much, if anything, if the original privacy limitations were still in-place.

If you can look around the web-browser access area, within the privacy, or Firewall sections, you may see something that mentions connections between devices, on the 'local' area network. (LAN)

If you can find the Owners Manual PDF, either on the Cisco site, or a search-engine listing, this is your key to finding detailed information of all its settings, and your 'best-bet' on correcting this issue.

At least you know the router at work does connect, and the App transfers between devices, so you're right, it's a setting within this Cisco Corporate router holding it back, at home.

I really feel bad I can't offer any more help to you, in this situation.
This is a general tutorial on why some people experience connection problems using this App.
This isn't directed to anyone in particular, reading or posting in this thread.
And is meant as a general understanding of what is going on with the connection issue.

---------------------------------------

In all cases, it's the router, or separate computer system, that is blocking connection between the devices within your internal network.

The iDevices are properly set, thru the iOS, to connect to another device.
When that's blocked, it's usually the router they're connecting thru, or a personal PC that has its own Firewall software blocking input to it, or browser setting blocking connection.

Sometimes it's both the router and PC Firewall and / or Browser, ...
... that's adding each of its blocking faults.
By handling each one separately, each ones settings can be adjusted.

Your own home router has two networks it controls. ...
The public one, where you get-out onto the world wide INTER-Net, ...
and Your internal private INTRA-Net, where just your own devices connect.

Your INTRA-Network IP# is NOT the same IP# your Public INTER-net address is.
It's just the routers internal connection set of IP # groups each internal device is assigned so your router knows where each one is. ... Each brand of router may have a different set of # groups. This is why support always asks this.

Besides asking for the Firewall info used on your PC or other devices, and Browser used, you're trying connection with. Remember, the iDevices are ready to connect, as long as your router is giving the proper connection instructions and IP# and port.

Giving this information to the support people doesn't allow them access into your private, or public Internet connection. It just gives the support staff the information needed to assist in connection problems from device to device.

Sometimes the Internal private network has the same firewall settings that the External network has, that keep you safe from external threats, causing them to block your own trusted internal devices from connecting to each other, within your router.

The internal private network can be made 'less secure' for your INTRA-Net needs, by allowing the devices you have, and trust, to 'talk' to each other, while still keeping any outside threats from entering into your private internal network devices.

This is why it's always not the Photo Transfer App causing the connection issue.
(unless a Bug is found in the code, but then everyone would have this problem :-)

Plus, ... if you have problems connecting to another device within your own network, using this App, you'll also have that same problem using another App that needs connection between devices. ...
This App just works better, than the others, when you allow it to connect. :)

The reviews speak for themselves. If you look at all the combined reviews for this App, you'll see it's nearly ONLY 1% of all reviews mentioning connection problems, giving it 1-star or even 2-star reviews. ...
Not just the latest revision, ... ALL COMBINED REVIEWS ... That says a lot...!

It's a shame they have to be in the 1% group, that random chance causes, but in this case, they can fix the problem. Instead, they choose to complain on the review site, instead of contacting customer support for assistance, to give the information about their system, needed to solve the connection issue.

I'm amazed how nasty some reviews are. ...!
They actually have a chance to enjoy the App, but choose not to.

OK ... Just my 2 pennies worth again.

Hello Ellie,
If you can also find the model # of that Belkin router, and eMail it to the eMail address Enrique mentioned, above, along with IF your computer is using a firewall program, or one included in the OS, which one is being used, it will help Enrique solve your problem.
Hi Alan,
I remember Enrique telling another customer ... the quarter photo area, and not seeing the check mark selection, were recently found bugs on the iPad3 and a revision fix is being released soon.

When Enrique returns, he can verify if this is the case, and if so, the expected update release time.

I would also expect if not this next update, some near future one will support the new retina display.
(maybe this bug has something to do with that display support in this version)
Enrique will confirm. Please wait for his reply.
I forgot to direct you to the post, above yours, on how to check your iDevice to see if you're on your own Home Router's Intra-Network.
https://getsatisfaction.com/photo_tra...

In other words, if you're on the same connection of your router as any other device connected to it.
