After creating an Album, using the Web-browser interface, then removing it by deleting thru the iPad, I can't see Albums in the browser any longer.

I guess the subject says it all.
:-)

Did I do something wrong, or could this be a "hidden" bug?

The Albums still show in the iPad's Camera Roll.

If you'd like more detailed info, just ask

Hello Gvdid1,

Thanks for posting your question here, I'll be happy to help you. Sorry about the delay in response!

Are you not able to see the rest of your albums after you deleted the -1- you wanted? Does the deleted album still show in your iPads camera roll? If so, you might want to close out the photos app (maybe even force quit it) and then relaunch it to see if the album still shows up there.

You will also want to close out of our website and relaunch it to see if the album(s) show again.

Please let me know if this helps!

Kind Regards,

Amber

Hi Amber,

The Album created using the web-browser interface, then deleted using the iPad doesn't show any longer, after originally deleted on the iPad, by using the iPad to delete it. That part is OK :)

All other albums on the iPad do still show on the iPad directly, through the iPad.

But, when I use the web-browser to transfer to the iPad from the PC, no other albums show now in that web-based interface, using Internet Explorer v8

I've tried refreshing the browser on the PC, rebooting the PC and iPad, closing the photo App, and starting again, as well as the iPad photo section, but it doesn't show the album list from the browser of the PC, in that section they'd normally be in, to select what album to transfer the photos to. It just remains blank.

And the only thing I remember being done was to delete the album on the iPad that was created with the web-browser connection, by having the iPad delete it.

Before I created the extra album, the others showed in the browser on the PC.

One extra bit of info that may help figure this out ...
I have an album called "Videos" on my iPad Camera Roll section, and the album created thru the browser was called "VIDEOS" (with all upper-case letters)

Could this have confused the album list in the web-browser interface when the VIDEOS album was deleted by the iPad?

Hi gvidid1!

I just saw this question. This is interesting, I was actually just working on figuring out why the albums drop down would sometimes show empty for some people and looks like you are having that issue too. One of the reasons why the drop down would show empty is if for some reason you had turned off the "Location Services" setting for our app. Can you double check that for me and see if it is ON. If it is then the problem is with something else and we can start digging to see what could possibly cause this.

BTW, thanks for always being so helpful on the forum!! We appreciate that!

Best,

Enrique

Wow, ... You certainly know your App.

I tried it again, ... after not showing, I then turned on location services in the iPad settings, refreshed the PC web browser, and up popped the albums in the drop-down menu.

I thought it's just needed when "sending" from the transfer App, so I had that location services option OFF, as my default setting on the iPad.

Thanks Enrique.

Unfortunately Apple will not allow reading the albums or photos if Location Services are turned off :( We've submitted a feature request to them about this and hopefully they will change that on iOS6 (whenever that comes!). It is an issue that definitely causes confusion among users so I hope they listen to us and to other many developers who have the same problem!

In any case, we are adding a better error message for this so people understand what they need to do to fix it.

Thanks again for your feedback!

Best,

Enrique
