The app continually crashes while trying to upload 5MP photos from PC to iPad2

I am really having a problem trying to upload multiple photos from my PC to my iPad2. The app seems to battle with many iPhone4 photos. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, rebooting my iPad, but it still keeps closing on the same photos.
This is really frustrating, when I am forced to upload 5 photos at a time to try keep track (I have a few thousand photos in total to upload), and the app keeps closing on what it seems every 15th photo. These are stock 5MP photos that have not been edited.

The app closes during the transfer from the PC to the app. Once photos have been transferred to the in the app buffer it seems to transfer just fine to the photo library.

This is the 64GB + 3G iPad2 running IOS 5.1.

Update: While typing this entry, it is now crashing on every upload attempt. Whether I try one photo or 10, it crashes every time after a few photos.
Dear Kimble,

Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry you are having issues with the app. We found an issue with our app that may be related to the problem that you are experiencing. We sent an update to Apple last week and they just approved it. We are releasing the new version right now. Please wait 2 or 3 hours (from 10.30 AM PST) and try updating the app from the 'App Store' app on your device. We hope this issue is fixed. Let us know if you continue having issues after you install the update.

Photo Transfer App
Much better thanks. Can now transfer 200 photos at a time without cooking out every time.

I have noticed that it has crashed a couple times during the process of writing the photos from memory to the photo library, but not often. Is much more reliable.
Hi there. I have the same failure with version 3.2. It crash continously by transfer about 30 photos.
Hello,
Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry you are having issues with the app. How big are your photos? and what model of iPhone or iPad do you have? If you find that the app is crashing over the same set of photos then it would very useful for us to have a sample of your photos to try it out here to figure out what's wrong. You can email us to support [at] phototransferapp [dot] com if you can provide us with some of your photos that are causing problems.

If your photos are really big then I would suggest to reduce the resolution and see if the problem continues especially if you have an older iPhone.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Hi Enrique
I send the photos from my iPhone 4s with ios 5.1 and recive with iPad2 with ios 5.1. But the photos are made with iPhone 4.
I have tried with different photos on my iPhone. One time it crashes after 30 photos, an other time after 90 photos. The same set of photos crashes all at the same time.

Thanks for your assistance.
Paul
Hi Paul,
I'm really sorry for not getting back to you, somehow I missed your last comment! Sorry about that. Are you still having the crashing problem? Did you verify if your devices (sender and receiver) have enough free space? If you continue having problems please send us an email to: support [at] phototransferapp [dot] com and I will send you some instructions on how to send us the crash logs of the app. We are about to send an update to Apple (v3.3) and I want to make sure that this issue is resolved. Thanks for your help! And sorry about the issues you've been having.

Best,

Enrique
Hi Paul,

If you still have this problem, or for future issues regarding a crash of the App...

Look to see if the App generated any type of 'crash' log?

iOS 5.1 now has a built-in Crash-Log viewer where you can also select all that text, copy it, and paste it into the notes App, or into an eMail to Enrique at support@phototransferapp.com

To see this 'Log' area, press the...
Settings / General / About / Diagnostics & Usage / Diagnostics & Usage Data
... buttons.

There you'll see a detailed listing of all the recent crashes happening with the iDevice, using the Apps, or even the memory crashes.

Look for a title stating the App, or function name you're looking for ... For example ...
'LatestCrash-PhotoTransferApp.plist' ... Or ... 'LatestCrash-LowMemory.plist' ... etc.

They also list the older crash logs there with the date/time the crash happened, shown in the log name.

You may no longer have to sync the iDevice to get the CrashLogs from the computer now. :-)
