Hi Josh,
I'm sorry you are having issues with the app. We had couple of other people using Thompson routers and they had to restart the router and join the network again from their computer and device to be able to establish communication. Please try restarting your router and see if you can establish communication. I hope that helps!

Best regards,

Dear August,

If the albums drop down is showing empty then please check that you have location services enabled for our app. That's required by Apple to be able to access albums and photos on your device since your photos may be geo-located. More info about this on this post:

Regarding the second question, when you transfer the same photos from PC to iPhone they don't get overwritten, they get saved at the end of the camera roll. Apple does not provide a programming interface that would allow to replace or overwrite any photo on your device.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other question or comment. I will be glad to help you.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Hello,

I would like to clarify the information on this post. As of iOS 5.0 and Photo Transfer App v3.0 you can create new albums on your iPhone and iPad. This is no longer a restriction! So, please make sure that you have iOS 5.0 or greater installed on your device and please update to the latest version of our app to be able to create new albums and transfer photos to them.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other question or comment. We will be glad to assist you.

Kind regards,

Hello,

One extra question is what version of iOS are you running on your device, some photos were having trouble when using 4.0 and 4.1 but things got better when iOS5 was released. Let us know.

You can also try this: Open the 'Settings' app on your device and scroll all the way down until you find our app ("Transfer") then turn ON the 'Use old saving APIs' and then try the transfer again to see if that helps.

Let us know how it goes.

Kind regards,

Enrique

Hello,

Just to clarify this answer, as of v3.2 you can transfer photos in RAW format from computer to device. Our app takes your file and transfers it exactly as it is stored on your computer and we use the Programming interfaces provided by Apple to save to the 'Photos' app.

The 'Photos' app should respect the format of the photo as well as the file extension but maybe the format is not compatible and that's why is renaming/transforming the photo when saving it to the 'Photos' app. I'm not familiar with the PhotoRaw app but all apps should be able to access the files stored on the 'Photos' app intact, maybe that's a question to them.

Let us know if you have any other question or comment.

Dear Esther,

Thanks for contacting us. For very long HD videos we would not recommend using our app. This is because our app transfers your videos to the 'Photos' app of your device which is not meant to store very long videos. For this type of files is better to use your USB cable and sync with iTunes, that way your videos will be saved on the 'Videos' app on your iPad instead of the 'Photos' app which is meant for small videos.

I hope this helps you! Let us know if you have any other question or comments.

Enrique

Excellent! Glad to hear that :) Let us know if you have any other question or comment as you continue using the app.

Cheers!

Hello,

Thanks for posting your question. I'm sorry it took us long to respond to you. This difference in the files may be because we have to read the bytes from the photo file to recreate it. The API that Apple provides does not give direct access to the file but rather to the bytes of the photo file. We read those bytes exactly as they are stored -making an identical copy of the original- but it is likely that this process results on a difference when you run a CRC check even though the contents of then files are the same.

I hope this is helpful. Let us know if you have any other question or comment. We hope our app is useful to you.

Regards,

Enrique
