firstly i did all of the above and then some ---nada change ---
I wound up installing three different programs on laptop to transfer files from ipod to laptop -- i was successfull with one only -
-today all three worked just fine -
- this photo transfer app which i had tried numerous times at this point delivered an address with a colon instead of a dot before the last 4 digits --voila -- like magic--it worked
--the best solution for me was the original copy and paste from my computer but i cannot help but get drawn in when something does not work --had to try this app

new person here --same problem -- firewall was turned off and it changed nothing -- it tells me when it is rejecting any contact but i turned it off anyway to try -----everything working normal --can update all apps --- pod is communicating to store and itunes etc - laptop excellent signal -- --no problem-- Browser cannot contact my ip address --
