I have the same problem. Will not transfer from iPad3 to Win7 PC. I have looked this string over and have not seen a solution so far for this issue. One woman has fixed hers but she is running a Mac. The PC and the wireless access point, a Trendnet, are on the same network as my iPad browses the Internet just fine. The address given is 192.168.20.187.
Trying to get mine to work. Going from iPad to PC. Followed all suggestions, still not seeing device. WiFi works fine, all on the same network, iPad gets Internet fine, not working.
I tried this on a Win7 laptop, no go. I set up a Win XP PC on my network, and that did not work either. In all cases I am using a Administrator account or an account with Administrator rights. My access point is not blocking anything according to the settings. Where on the iPad can you find the IP settings and the ping block settings? The .187 is from your app, but that falls in the range of addresses given out by the AP.
I tried creating an ad-hoc network, and it said "an unexpected error occurred" and could not find a solution. The issue might be in my PC, however, I do not have any other issues with sharing files, etc.
I set up a Win7 laptop on the wireless network here. It received an address of .186, which I was able to ping from my PC. I can browse the Internet and do other things on the network here from the iPad, but I cannot ping it from my PC, which I just figured that is the way the iPad is. If I should be able to ping the iPad, then there is a setting on the iPad that needs changing. Do you know what that is?
The network is a home network. Everything is in the 192.168.20.xxx address range. The WiFi access point is a Trendnet TEW652BRP with a static address of .200. My PC is Win7 with a static address of .22. I use another app on my iPad3 called Fingerprint that has no problem with the wireless. And I did disable that app to see if it was causing any problem, and it did not. I thought it might be the wireless password on the AP, so I added that to the PhotoTransferApp settings, this did not help either.
