Delete photos upon backup option

Robert Sherer 9 years ago updated 9 years ago 7
I transferred 2600 photos today, the app worked great, all automatically with one click on backup. However, now I'm stuck with 2600 finger taps to delete the photos off the iPad Air 2 with iOS 8. iOS 7 used to have a mass delete option but iOS 8 does not.

With the photos backed up, I no longer need them on the iPad. Can you add an option to delete photos after they are uploaded? (to save me 2600 finger taps!)

Thanks, Bob
Hello Bob

Thank you for posting your inquiry here and suggestion. My apologies for the delay!

This is a highly sought out after feature of our app that a lot of people are requesting. Currently the development team is aware of it and are trying to work something out to implement. However, it's a restriction with Apple. Apple doesn't allow third party apps to delete or remove content off your device.

We appreciate your suggestion and hope that we can accommodate in the future!

This is very disappointing one of the main reasons for my purchase of this app, I thought it said that you could transfer and delete photos quickly.
Dear support, i didn't find an option "delete photos after uploading" on the newest version. I may have overlooked something. I also bought your app just some minutes ago (having installed newest ios8) for the same reason as Anne. Please enlighten us. Thank you. Fridemar.
Hello Fridemar,

Thank you for posting your question. Just to be clear, are you using our desktop app? This feature is currently available only with the desktop app and not the web browser. You need to be running the latest version ( you can download it from here: http://phototransferapp.com/win/update/PhotoTransferApp22.zip ).

If you are using the desktop app it's at the bottom. You have the option to delete photos or transfer then delete. If you are deleting photos you also have to confirm it on your device as well.

Hi Anne,

With the new version of the app you CAN delete photos after you transfer them. You do need to have iOS8 installed on your device as deleting it is not supported on earlier versions of iOS. Also, make sure you have the latest update of our desktop app.

Let us know if you have other questions or comments.

Shirley,

Just to clarify, what version of our app are you now currently running? I would recommend that you close out our app, turn off/on your device to allow it a fresh restart then relaunch our app and let me know if you still get the error message about having or needing the latest version of our app.

Thank you! I also apologies for the delay!

Best,
