Video upside down using windows media player

Works great but when I transferred a video to my computer and played on windows media player it was upside down. Why? I can get it to work okay on QuickTime. It corrects itself in a second
Found out that when taking a video on iPhone the volume buttons have to face down to get the correct orientation for playing video on windows media player. So I guess in summary I took the video upside down(volume buttons were facing up) which is corrected on the iPhone or QuickTime players but not in a windows media player.
