iPad app quits during file transfer.

I'm trying to transfer photos & video from my iPad 3 to my iMac. I'm using the Photo Transfer App at both ends - on the iPad and on the iMac. After the transfer is initiated, the iPad says it's "preparing files", then it quits. How can I get my files transferred?
Hello Lorraine,

Thank you for posting your question here, I will be happy to help you.

I would recommend that you close out our app and the photos app. Once you've done that relaunch your photos app first then our app to give the library a fresh connection. Make sure your photos are in a JPG, GIF or PNG format before transferring. Are you on a home wifi network or a public network?

I would like to suggest maybe using our Mac app as well to transfer photos from iDevice to your mac using our mac app:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photo-...

Just install the software from the link and then launch the app on your iDevice and on the Mac. Your mac should discover your device when you click on "discover devices" button on the mac app. Also make sure that your iDevice and mac are connected to the same network.

Please let me know if this helps

Kind Regards,

Amber

I was using the Mac app as well as the iPad app. I followed your instructions and had the same problem.

The above screen shot was taken on the Mac, after the iPad app quit. I was trying to upload 1 video at the time, and it was only 2:46 long.
Dear Lorraine,

I'm sorry you are having problems with the app. Can you tell us what type of wifi network you are using? If the app is timing out it may be because of the speed and/or the signal strength of your wifi connection. I would recommend couple of things, first try to have your Mac and iPad close to the wifi router and then try the transfer again. If the problem persists then please open the mac app again, click on your iPad and then click on the "Web interface" button on the top right corner of the app and then try the transfer via the transfer web page instead of the app to see if that works for you.

Let us know your results.

Best,

Enrique
Photo Transfer App
Hi,
It is a home network (Linksys), and the iPad, Mac & router were all in the same room, close to one another. I did get my video transferred using the browser window. It does not appear that the app is timing out - it quits within seconds (probably about 5) after the video transfer is initiated.

I would also like to report that the instructions on the browser page refer to downloading the file to my PC (not my Mac) - even though I indicated the destination was a Mac when I initiated the transfer on the iPad app.
Hi Lorraine,

I'm glad to know that you were able to transfer your video using the web interface. One extra question, what format was it? MOV, MP4 or M4V? I'm just asking to understand where the problem may be with our Mac app. We will also check about the instructions on our site.

Let me know if you have any other question or comment.

Best regards,

Enrique
Photo Transfer App
It was a MOV file - video taken with the iPad 3.
