Upside down photos after transfer to PC!

Karen Ahern 12 years ago 3
I transferred some photos and videos for the first time from my iPad to my windows PC. Because I'm always confused about which way is "up" on the iPad and it intuitively turns itself anyway, a lot of the photos were obviously taken "upside down". You don't realise this on the iPad, but when they're transferred to PC, the majority of the images are upside down and I can't edit them, because they're from a zipped file? Also, no videos transferred.
I just followed your instructions Amber and happy to see that we can rotate photos but can't be saved though. Sooooo annoying! Why is this? Can you help?
Hello Anne,

So sorry about the delay in response!

Once you rotate the photo it should automatically 'save' those changes. What program are you using to rotate the photo?

Usually any default software you use to view photos and rotate them will save the changes made.

Kind Regards,

Amber
Hello Karen,

I will be more then happy to help you. You need to unzip the zip file :) to do that simply right click on the zip file and select 'extract all'. From there it will extract the photos.zip file and create a new folder (with the same name) where you can then view all your images and rotate them as need be.

Note that if you are viewing your photos on the web browser some pictures will not be rotated on the proper way. This is because the browser can't detect the proper rotation. To solve this please use the 'Download all photos as zip file' and then open your photos with a image viewing software on your computer.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other question.

Kind regards,

Amber
