Problem transferring photos
I've started getting an error message when attempting to use Photo Transfer to send photos from my MacBook to my iPad. I use the address "http://192.168.255.233:8080" on the MacBook but get the following message, "Safari can't open the page "http://192.168.255.233:8080" because the server where this page is located isn't responding. Worked fine yesterday. Problems started last night and continue today. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I will be happy to help you.
Are you on a home wifi network or a public wifi network? Make sure that you have the app running on your device before you transfer and that your device is connected to the same wifi network as your computer.
I would like to also suggest maybe using our Mac app to transfer photos from iDevice to your mac using our mac app:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photo-...
Just install the software from the link and then launch the app on your iDevice and on the Mac. Your mac should discover your device when you click on "discover devices" button on the mac app. Also make sure that your iDevice and mac are connected to the same network.
Please let me know if this helps

I have installed the Photo Transfer App on 2 iOS devices (an new iPad and an iPod Touch) and my MacBook computer (as you suggested above). I turned on the Photo Transfer App on both the iPad and the Touch and then turned on the Mac App on my MacBook. All are on the same wifi network. When I hit the [Discover Devices] button, it doesn't find either of my 2 iOS devices. I am away from home right now, been on the road for about a week. Have been on 1 private wifi network and 1 public wifi network both at hotels. Could that be the problem? A couple of days ago everything worked fine. After about 2 days I started having problems and it hasn't worked since. I won't be home for another several days. I will attempt to continue playing with it while away and give it another shot when I get home. Anything else you may be able to offer would be appreciated. It was a great app while it worked. It's just a bit frustrating now that it doesn't and I can't figure out what went wrong.
Thanks again for your help.

Yes, this could be the reason why you are experiencing some issues is because you are on public wifi networks ( and a different private network ). Have you tried transferring between the two devices via bluetooth?
You need to enable it on both devices. Here is our walk through on how to transfer via bluetooth: http://phototransferapp.com/help/ipad...
Please let me know if this helps!

I have tried transferring photos between my iPod Touch and my new iPad using Bluetooth. That works just fine. (By the way, that write-up describing the steps for Bluetooth transfer was great!. Very simple and easy to follow.) I had no problems using Bluetooth. Still having problems with wifi transfer from my Macbook though. Both the Macbook and iPad are on the same network here in the hotel so I'm still not sure what's going on. I should be home in a couple of days. I'll try again when I get on my personal network and report back. Thanks again for all you help.
PS. Is there any way to use Bluetooth to transfer between Macbook and iPad perhaps??
