cannot connect ipad to pc

i have downloaded the app to my ipad and my windows pc. keep getting message no devices discovered. both devices are connected to the same wifi network. i tried manual entry of the address provided by the app on my ipad but still no luck. using windows xp, ie8, ipad 5.1

Hi Ron,

Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry you are having problems with the app. Can you try doing the manual entry using the Windows app? You need to type the address given by the app on your iPad to check if you can connect that way. Here is how:

If you keep getting problems then tell us what type of wifi router you are using. If you have an Apple Extreme Router or a higher end Cisco router then make sure that you are using the main network and not the guest network.

Hi Enrique, thanks for the quick response. I have tried your suggestion numerous times using the information on the help screens etc. without any success. I am using a D-Link wireless router model DIR-615.
