Keep Edited Version of Photos in Transfers from Ipad to MBP

George Brown 12 years ago updated 12 years ago 3
I edited the photos on my ipad (mostly cropping, but some other changes like contrast and saturation etc.), but when I transfer them to my MacBook Pro, the editing is stripped off. Your app download site says "Preserves photo metadata in all transfer directions." How do I keep my edited changes when I transfer the pictures from the Ipad to the MBP?
Hello George,

Thanks for contacting us!

I will be happy to help you. Unfortunately Apple does not provide a programming interface to access the edited photo as a full resolution image. However, if you download the photos in medium resolution which is the resolution that the native 'photos' app uses to display the images on the iPad screen then your changes should be preserved.

So basically what you need to do is to select the photos that you want to transfer and then select download in medium resolution from the transfer web page to be able to preserve the changes you made. We hope that Apple will make an addition to their APIs so we can have a better way to access the photos that you edited directly on the 'Photos' app.

Another solution is to use a different app to transform your photos and then save the changes as a new image on your iPad, then you can use our app to transfer those edited images back to your computer.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other question or comment!

All The Best,

Thanks Amber - It is too bad that there isn't a way to keep higher resolution edited images in the transfer process. I'll try your suggestions and hope it works! Thanks again for your prompt response.
