Can't send photos from albums other than "Camera Roll".
Can't send photos from albums other than "Camera Roll". The app seems to think it can... you can pick the photos and go to the send screen, you can see a list on your web browser (Mac ox x 10.6 in this case), but you can't actually get them. Try the ZIP file option, you get a zip file full of zero-byte jpg files.

Thanks for posting your problem here. We are aware of this issue and have been trying to find the answer to this problem for the last few days. It looks like it may not be necessarily related to our application however.
It seems that somehow the data of the photos outside the 'camera roll' is not stored correctly on some devices. You can try for example to send a photo from outside the 'Camera roll' by email and the photo will not be sent correctly either - the photo also arrives as an empty file! Which means that the native 'Mail' app is also having trouble reading these photos :(
Some of our users who reported this issue earlier mentioned that deleting the 'iTunes photo cache' or 'iPod photo cache' folder located inside of the folder where the photos are stored in the computer and then synching again solved this issue. Doing this will force iTunes to recreate the cache which looks like it solves the problem with our app and the Mail app as well.
We hope this answer is useful. Please post here if you were able to solve this issue by deleting the 'photo cache' and synching your device again.
Kind regards,
The Photo Transfer App team
As an aside, I did delete the iPod photo cache directory, but it didn't make any difference.
If you have any insight as to what might have happened to my pictures, I'd love to hear it. That said, I think your app seems great, very valuable, and I look forward to using it on real photos!
Thanks.
I've tried to transfer photos to other albums but the app places the photos in the "Camera Roll" album and created a link to the photos in the correct album. The correct action would be to place the photos directly in the destination album. Works the same using the Windows PC app or a browser connection. Same when transferring between iPhone -> iPad.
This is a big inconvenience - - do you think this can be corrected soon?
Thank you,
Marcos
Unfortunately that's the behavior of the 'Photos' app made by Apple and there is no way we (or any other third party developer) can fix that. Hopefully they take care of that on the next version of iOS coming maybe this summer.
Best,
Enrique
Transferring right now, all the folders in my iPhoto Library, which is the only place I had most photos saved (on my iPad).
It's fast and works perfectly, with over 6000 photos in separate folders. Now time to fix my laptop too.
Thanks for your comment. The way the native 'Photos' app on iPad is designed is to have ALL photos in the camera roll and just 'links' to the same photos in your albums. So basically if you create a new album and put a photo inside of it then it will also be in the Camera roll. I agree that this is far than ideal but there is nothing we can do about that since Apple designed it that way.
If you use our desktop app (which is free btw) you will have the same behavior, you will be able to create albums and place photos inside of them but the photos will also appear in the 'Camera roll' because of how the 'Photos' app is designed.
Apple will most certainly publish a new version of iOS in the summer so hopefully they will make photos and album management easier.
Best,
Enrique
