Why did the date and time of my iphone 5 video change to the date and time it was transferred by the app?

I had no trouble transferring the video made on my iPhone 5 to my Mac, but the date and time of the video changed from the original date and time to the date and time the video was transferred. I'd like the original date and time to remain and not to change.

same thing with Pictures. Its changing data and time. The entire timeline order is lost when pictures are transferred to PC. I had bunch of pictures from DSLR imported to Ipad. Since it shows Timeline of pictures is available on Ipad, I would assume, pictures would have date created info in meta data.

Are you perchance using the Mac app? The mac app should keep the right file date on the video.

I am having the same problem. The Mac app is changing the "date created" to the time that the file was transferred from my iPad.

Hi Stephen,

Sorry you are having problems with the app. Did you take the video with the iPad or with another device? The app will take the date stored on the metadata of the video but if there is no metadata then it will put the date of the transfer.

This question is for Enrique.

Is there a way to read this meta data within the App?
(For both photos, and videos.)

I'm assuming, if your App sees it, then it should be able to tell us what that data is.

Please don't tell me apple limits your access to the meta-data, if so, how does your app transfer it, if it can't see it?
