Creating and populating an album on an iOS device from a Mac running Lion doesn't work.
I'm trying to use Photo Transfer App on my iMac, running MacOS Lion 10.7.6, to create an album and populate it on first an iPad2, and then on an iPhone 5 (both running iOS 6). I find that the photos get tranferred to my Camera Roll in each case, and an empty album is created on the device, but then the PTA either gets stuck saying "waiting for device" and crashes when I cancel, or it just crashes.

First and foremost I would like to apologies for the long delay in response!
I would like to recommend that you please create an album via the Mac App. Then you need to select the album after it is created to transfer to that album. We have a great walk through on our website that will show you how to do this.

Please let me know if this helps or if you experience any other issues, I will be happy to help you!

Yes, that works. But as far as I can see, the app CLAIMS to be able to do this in one move. Is that supposed to work or not? If not, obviously not a showstopper, but maybe you should change your help files. Or have I missed something.
No problem, I am glad that it is working :)
In regards to your inquiry, once you create your album then you can transfer to that newly created album. The transfer will not initiate until you pick the photos you want to transfer, so it won't automatically start transferring anything to that new album until you choose your photos / videos.
"Click to upload to album" is after you've selected your photos to transfer to either an existing album or the new one you just created.
Please let me know if this helps or if you have any other questions!
Best,
Amber
