duplicate file names
is there any way to change the method of handling duplicate file names? My wife and I recently got iPhones and the picture files on the devices are named using the same naming format. When I copied her pics using the PT app, it wrote over my pics with the same name. Why doesn't the app just create another file with some type of extension (_001)? Any ideas?

My apologies for not getting back to you sooner.
Are you using the Mac app to transfer photos? Also I would like to suggest that you look into not replacing any files if they share the same name already on the same location.
Please let me know how I can assist you further if need be and I will be happy to do so :)
Kind Regards,
Amber
I'm using the mac app to transfer and it overwrites files with the same name. My intent is to NOT overwrite files. I would expect the program to prompt me to overwrite files or create a filename with an 001 appended to the filename for duplicate files. That is what the mac image capture program does.
I have this same issue. Is the bug fixed yet since being reported a year ago? It seems relatively simple to detect a same filename, check some basic info and create a renamed version. I copy photos from 4 different sources to my iPad, some of which have the same naming convention for files.
Along with my other support request (on large files), this is my other main bugbear which makes what I thought was a good app, pretty sub standard.
