Can I download previous app version to work with Mac OS 10.8.5?

Although I will update my MBP soon, I'm currently stuck on 10.8.5 and the Photo Transfer App for Mac Desktop only works with Mac OS 10.11 it says on the iTunes store. Where can I download an older version? There's too much to sort out before I can upgrade my Mac OS but need to download lots of edited pix from my iPhone and really can't afford the time to do this from scratch in iPhoto.... :( Any help much appreciated. 

Postscript: I found the Google Chrome app and used that instead. It appeared to work but it only copied the non-edited photos over. In addition, when selecting the edited photos only, it only copied one photo at a time so I gave up and have to accept the loss of paying for an app that didn't do its job....... :( :(
