iPad not discovering MacBook Pro

Hi:

I can upload photos from my MacBook Pro to my iPad, but not the other way around. My iPad does not discover the MacBook, so all the action steps are grayed out.

What am I doing wrong?

I would like to recommend that you please close out our app, launch your photos app first and then launch our app. Please try to then rediscover your devices. Did you allow our app authorization to access your photos initially when you installed it?
