help me delete an album

mic mac 13 years ago updated 11 years ago 11
I have started using the Photo Transfer App on my Ipad 2.

When I open photos tab I see the following albums "Camera Roll", another album (I will refer to it as "Album #2") then a few albums which were made photos from the "Camera roll" album (I will refer to these albums as "Sub-albums").

I can delete photos from the "Camera roll" album as well as from the "Sub-albums".......however I can not delete photos from " Album #2"......is there a way to delete this album and/or the photos in it?????

When I try to delete albums, I can delete all of the "Sub-Albums" but not the "Camera roll album" and "Album #2"
Dear Mic,

Thanks for posting your question here, I will be happy to help.

As of right now, you can't delete the camera roll as that is the default album Apple has designated it to be. Also for this reason, it makes duplicates of photos in your albums and puts them into the camera roll as well. Again this is something Apple has implemented and we can't do anything about it :(

I hope this helps with your question!

Kind Regards,

Amber

Please re-read my question...it is not the camera roll album that I am trying to delete...it is another album....I can, however delete the albums that I created from photos from the camera roll album
It is possible to have two camera roll albums?
Hello,

If you created that album using iTunes and then Synched your device with your computer then the only way to remove photos or the album is by using iTunes and synching again. Did you create the album with the 'Photos' app on the device or with your computer? Let us know and we will try to help you.

Kind regards,

Enrique

I used photo transfer to move 3000 photos to
My iPad. They show up in Photos and under Albums in Last 12 months but not in any other album. If I select one under Photos Edit the Delete button is non functional. I've never used iTunes to synch stuff. I really want to delete this stuff. If necessary I'll delete all photos if there is a way to do that.
If you used Photo Transfer App to move your photos to your iPad then you should be able to delete them from the 'Saved photos' album (or from the 'Camera roll' if you have an iPad 2). You should be able to open the 'Saved photos'/'Camera roll' album and then use the little 'arrow' button on the top right corner to select the photos that you want to delete, then use the 'Remove' button to delete the photos. I hope that helps. If not, then please send us an screenshot of where you are trying to select the photos so we can understand where the problem may be, you can send it to our support address: support [at] phototransferapp [dot] com.
I have the same problem. I built an album on my ipad THROUGH your app. Then I wanted to delete the complete album - not JUSt the photos in it - the complete album. But there is no way to do that. Can you help me and I hope my question was clear. Thanks so much.
Hi Judy,

Please follow these steps to delete an album:

1. Open the 'Photos' app
2. Go to the 'Albums' view using the control that appears on the top of the screen in the middle
3. Touch the 'Edit' button on the top right corner
4. Touch the 'x' button that appears on the album

I hope this helps you! Let us know if you nee more assistance.

Best,

Enrique

I am facing the same problem. I am unable to delete albums of pictures which I have created. and when I follow these steps, the cross on the album does not appear. please help
Shalu,

Have you tried closing out your photos app, turning off / on your iDevice, launch your photos app again and then try to delete your albums?

Kind Regards,

Amber
Just to clarify, if you created the albums using iTunes then you will have to use iTunes to remove the albums from your device. If you created the albums using 'Photo Transfer App' or directly using the 'Photos' app then you should be able to delete them directly on the 'Photos' app.

Cheers,

Enrique
I have the same problem as Shalu above. I switched my iPhone off and back on and I still don't have the "cross" to delete the album.
