What am I doing wrong photos not saving

I get connected and photos show on computer but when I go out and back in they are not anywhere anymore? I am brand new to windows 8 today but they are not in the picture app. Do I have to save or as soon as the 2systems connect the transfer is completed?

Thank you for posting your question here with us, I apologies for the long delay in responding back to you here.

Did you perhaps sync them with iTunes? If so, they might've been synced off your device. Our app cannot remove or delete anything off your device after / before transfer so there's most likely another reason as to why your photos are not there.

If you used our desktop app then your photos should've saved to the folder you selected to have your photos transferred to. If you used the web browser, your photos would've downloaded as a zip file. You will then need to extract the zip file ( right click -> extract all ). Did our app indicate that the transfer was successful?
