iPhone doesn't connect since iOS8.1 update
Running app on iPhone 5S and MacbookPro. Worked fine until latest update of iOS8.1. Now iPhone is discovered but cannot connect: "There was an error communicating with the device". I have already 1) removed & reinstalled app on iPhone; 2) powered iPhone off and on; 3) reset router.

Thank you for posting your question here with us, I apologies for the long delay in response back to you!
Are you still having problems with the app after the update? Are you on the same wifi network as before when the app was working? Please let me know if you are still experiencing problems!
Best,
Amber

As mentioned, I have reset the router, powered phone off and on, removed and reinstalled the app on phone.
Running on MacbookPro with OSX 10.9.5. Photo Transfer App v2.2. Following all steps as directed, the laptop reports it has discovered the phone and is connected to the phone. However, no thumbnail is displayed of any photos since the last iOS update. There are thumbnails of earlier photos (perhaps cached?). But if I try to select and download ANY photos, app returns error message: "There was an error communicating with the device. Please make sure that you are using the latest version of Photo Transfer App on the device and that it is connected to the same wifi network."
This is very unfortunate because the app was working great until the iOS update. I learned about the app from a Lynda.com course on using the iPhone camera and I really liked it.
I'm sorry you are still having problems. We know that with iOS8.1 some people are having more networking issues than before. We are looking into this. In the meantime, it would be great if you can try creating an 'adhoc' connection betwee your Mac and your iPhone to see if the issue is with the wifi router. Here are some instructions for you to try:

Let me know how that works and if you can establish a connection between the devices using the adhoc connection.
Kind regards,
Enrique

Thanks for the suggestion. I was able to create the adhoc connection between Mac and iPhone, following the steps outlined. Both devices correctly showed connection to the adhoc network.
However, when I ran PhotoTransferApp via the adhoc network, it now returned error "no devices found."

Thanks for the info. I'm puzzled... normally a restart of the device should refresh everything. Especially if you are using an adhoc network connection which connects both devices directly to each other. Did you do any other change to the configuration of your iPhone? Like changing the network settings?
If you keep having problems after trying again please email us to support@phototransferapp.com to send you a promo code to cover for the cost of the app as we can't offer refunds as Apple handles all payment processing and customer info.
Sorry again. Hopefully you have a chance to try it again after you reset your wifi router which may help as well.
Best,
Enrique

Because the problem appeared after an iOS update, I always suspected the issue was with iOS and not with the app. (So I would not ask for a refund or credit, because I don't think it was your fault.)
Sure enough, after the latest iOS updates, everything is back to working fine. My conclusion is that whatever Apple accidentally broke, they have now fixed.
Thanks for your patience – it is a great app!
