App can't find all photos on iPhone 5

Marte Langeland 9 years ago updated 9 years ago 12
I have an iPhone 5, updated to version 8.1.2, and I'm running the app to manually upload pictures from phone to Flickr. However, I can't find all my photos, just about 1/3 of them.

I open the app, select to upload to Flickr, and choose Select & UPLOAD. Then, I choose a folder called All photos, but only some of my 1500+ photos on the phone are displayed.

I tried bypassing the issue by creating a new album on my phone and adding some of the photos I can't see in the Transfer-app. When opening the Transfer-app, I see the newly created iPhone album (even with a cover photo from one of the photos in it). However, If I enter the album from the Transfer-app, it is empty.

Anyone with the same issue?
Hello Marte

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to assist you with our app.

The photos that aren't appearing, did you take these photos with your iPhone? Or did you happen to sync them with iTunes? I would suggest that you close out our app, turn off/on your device, launch our app and then please try to transfer your photos again.

Another thing you can try is to take a photo with your iPhone and try to upload that to Flickr and see if the photo is available.

Please let me know the above, I will be more then happy to assist you.

Best,

Amber

I am having the same problem.  I have an iPhone5 with 800+ photos, all taken with my iPhone. When I open the app and try to transfer them to my MacBook, only 191 of the images are displayed. It has worked flawlessly in the past, displaying all the images on my iPhone.  But now, over 600 images do not show up.  I recently updated to version 8.1.2  Please advise - thank you.
Hello,

Sorry you are having problems with the app. Can you check if the photos appear on the 'Camera Roll' album instead of the 'All photos' album? If you don't have a 'Camera Roll' album then that means that you enabled 'iCloud Photo Library' and Apple already uploaded some of those photos to the iCloud Photo Library which makes them unavailable to our app.

To know if you have iCloud Photo Library enabled go to the Settings app on your device, then to 'iCloud' then to 'Photos' and check if you have 'iCloud Photo Library' enabled.

Let us know this info and we will be happy to help.

Best,

Enrique
I do not have a camera roll since I updated my phone in the last week.  At the same time, I enabled iCloud Library - the Beta version. Is there any way to reverse this so I can access all my images with the app?
If you enabled iCloud Photo Library then ALL your photos will be saved on iCloud and the originals will be deleted from your device by default. There is one option to keep the originals on the device as well. To do that go to the Settings app > iCloud > Photos  and enable the switch for "Download and keep originals". This will then download the photos again back to your device and they should be available on the 'All photos' album.

Please note that getting the photos back to the device after you change this setting may take some time and there is no really a way to know the progress. So enable the setting and wait some time to get the photos back on the device.

I hope this helps! Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Enrique

Thank you so much for your help - I will test it out again shortly and see if all the photos appear in the transfer.  I did log into iCloud and all my 800+ photos appear. I have the option to download them so I selected an album with about 50 photos.  you are required, though, to save each photo separately - 50 windows popped up one at a time and I have to click on Save each time - it was very tedious - much prefer using your app.  Again, thank you, and I will post a comment after I try to transfer again.
It did take some time for the photos to download but I was then able to easily transfer them with the Photo Transfer app which is light years faster than downloading them from iCloud Photo Library.  Again, many thanks for troubleshooting this and solving my dilemma so quickly!
Yes, I took the pictures with the phone, some of them are from a travel where I didn't bring my ipad. I've tried to switching off the app and the phone and switch it back on, but still images are missing.

Took a new photo, and found it immediately.

A mystery!
Hi Marte. Please check the previous comments on this thread and let us know if you also enabled 'iCloud Photo Library'.

Kind regards,

Enrique

I've enabled the icloud photo library, and no 'camera roll' in sight. Is there no way for your app to find these images?
