File Names of jpg files on PC versus iPhone

The app assignes a differnt file name than the one that exists on my iPhone 4. For example. IMG_1115.jpg on the iPhone is named IMG_1000000621.jpg after the transfer to the PC. Is there a way to keep the same file name?

Dear Paul,

Thanks for posting your question here. Unfortunately we don't have much control over the file names of the photos. We depend on the programming interfaces that Apple provides on the iPhone SDK to read the photos and videos and they do not include being able to read the original name of the files. Basically, when a photo is saved to an iPhone or an iPad they get assigned an internal name created by the 'Photos' app. When we read the photos they already have a different name which makes it impossible to go back to the original name.
