Videos uploaded from pc to iPad show up as a JPG image in camera roll

When I upload video's from my PC to iPad I receive teh Done message "1 images were saved to your photo album. To view them, open the "Photos" application. However, nothing shows up under video, but there is a blank JPG thumbnail under photos.
I've got the same issue here and was just about to use the app (which is great for photos) professionally to help a client get video on to his iPad. The delay in soerting this is very frustrating!
I've given up on this app until it's fixed. This one works for video:

Thanks for the message Enrique - Photo Transfer is a great solution other than this issue and I'll be back using it as soon as Apple approve the update

Thanks for contacting us. Can you give us some information about the source of your videos? Were they taken with an iPhone or another digital camera?

Also, I would suggest to launch the 'Photos' app before starting a transfer to make sure that the Photo Library is updated before the transfer takes place.

The videos were taken with a Sony Handycam camcorder. I convert them to .m4v and then upload to iPad using the web browser utility from my PC. I use Handbrake to convert the videos. I receive the message "1 images were saved to your photo album. To view them, open the "Photos" application".

I've also tried converting to .mov, but the same problem occurs.

All of this worked fine with the last version of your app. The problems started after I upgraded to version 3.0.
I just tried testing this from PC to my iphone 4 and it all worked fine. However, I'm using Photo Transfer 2.3 on my phone.

I used the same exact video I used to transfer to my iPad using your 3.0 version.

Upgraded to 3.0 on my iPhone 4 and now the video transfer is not working on this device either. It's having the same issues my iPad does (see above).

Hi Steve,

Here is another option to transfer the video:

1. Open the 'Settings' app on your device and scroll down until you find our app ('Transfer')

2. Change the switch for 'Use old saving APIs' to ON and close the settings app.

Doing this will tell our application to use the old programming interfaces provided by Apple to save your photos. It looks like the new programming interface provided in the last SDK is having some problems with certain photos/videos. I hope that will fix the problem you are having. Let me know when you have a chance to try this out.

After transferring the video I would recommend to change the switch back to OFF.

I just sent you an email with this update: We just discovered a bug with the video upload function that is causing a issue with some video uploads causing the problem that you are experiencing. We already fixed it and we will be publishing an update to the app store very soon. Apple takes a few days to approve an update so we expect the update with this fix to be available at the beginning of next week. I apologize sincerely for this issue. Thanks for your patience. I will get back to you as soon as the update is released.

I have the exact same issue when trying to upload to my iphone 4s...how I get an update?
I'm still waiting for the update to fix the issue.
I bought the Photo Transfer App just yesterday, the same problem here. I tried all formats, no success. My originals are MOV from the camera, the others are transformed by Format Factory application. PTA is a helpful application, without the bug shall be even nicer :-)

We are just waiting for Apple to approve the update that fixes this issue. I'm sorry about the delay, Apple takes several days to review and approve updates and now we are just waiting for them since last Wednesday (8 days ago). Hopefully they will review and approve the update very soon. Thanks for your patience!

agreed, this is why I purchased the app.
Any update news from Apple? It has been 20 days now....
It's actually been almost 4 weeks. I reported this bug back on October 26th and was told it would take a "few days".
Hello everyone,

Finally! the update that fixes this issue was approved by Apple today and is now available on the app store. Please go ahead and update the app to the latest version (3.01). I'm sorry it took sooo long to have the update out, at the end we really don't know why Apple hold the review for so long but we are happy that the update is now available.
