Pics are rotated 90 degrees and Windows won't save corrected files

new user 12 years ago updated 12 years ago 3
When my pics are downloaded they are all rotated 90 degrees. I don't mind rotating them back to the original view -- the problem is once i do that my computer does not allow me to save the change -- so i will have to rotate them every time i view them, very annoying. The exact error message I get is "Windows Photo Viewer can't save the changes to this picture because there's a problem with the picture's file properties." Is there a way to fix this and stay in Windows Photo Viewer? I am using Windows 7. If not, what photo viewing software should i be using? free of course. anything besides picassa?
Hello!

Thanks for using Photo Transfer App. What program are you using to view your photos? Note that if you are viewing your photos on the web browser some pictures will not be rotated on the proper way. This is because the browser can't detect the proper rotation. To solve this please use the 'Download all photos as zip file' and then open your photos with a image viewing software on your computer.

Have you tried to view it using different software to view your photos in? What is the file extension of your photos. They should be a JPG, GIF or PNG format.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other question.
Kind regards,

Amber

as i stated in the detail below my question, the files are downloaded to my computer -- so they are jpg files on my computer. the sw i am viewing them with is Windows Photo Viewer, which is the default when i double click the newly downloaded files. Please read the details to my question and reply again. thanks!!
Hello,

I would like to clarify that the 'Windows Photo Viewer' is an older software that does not recognize the rotation headers on iPhone photos and that is why your photos are not showing correctly. Our app transfers photos exactly as stored on your iPhone.

Please try using a different software to view your photos like Google Picasa, Photoshop, or any other software you have have installed to view your photos.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other question or comment.

Kind regards,

Enrique
