Photo Transfer No Longer Transfers Photos

Worked great for a long time- quick, easy and efficient. However, it has suddenly stopped working correctly. Photo Transfer App will recognize my phone (iPhone 4s) and when I click on the device, there is no response, and no photos show up at all. Then, I get an error message that there was a problem communicating with the device. Not sure what the issue is, since I have used this app before without problems. Is there something I may have changed in my phone's settings that are not allowing the photos to transfer? Please help and thanks in advance.

Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry you are having problems with the app. There are couple of things you can check. The first one is the privacy settings. Go to the Settings app > Privacy > Photos and then check that our app is enabled to read your photos. Let us know if you can't find these settings as they are different accross iOS versions. BTW, what version of iOS is your phone running?

One other thing to try is to simply restart your iPhone. It is not a very "elegant" response but sometime a good-old restart may help getting everything refresh.

Finally, please tell me if you recently enabled 'iCloud Photo Library' when updating to iOS8.

I have the same problem transferring photos from iPhone5 to windows vista. It used to work great. After updating to ios8 .3 I now have to manually enter the device address. It discovers the device but when it goes to find photos, it says Error - Authorization. There is a problem communicating with the device. Privacy settings are set ok. I restarted the iPhone. I have the iCloud Photo Library off, my photo stream on. I am on home wifi and tried when nobody else was on. Is it a problem with the wifi?
Here's an update. The problem is intermittent, so it probably has to do with my internet service.

Thanks for posting your question here, my apologies for the delay.

Did you allow authorization for our app to access your photos when you downloaded the update? you can check by going to our settings -> Authorization. Make sure it's turned to ON.

If you still experience this error whenever you try to use the app, please uninstall the app and reinstall it. After reinstalling it, turn off/on your device and then relaunch our app and attempt to transfer / discover your device again. Some users found that turning off / on the device allowed it to be refreshed.
